I have recently been uploading some new video tutorials to Youtube to help new users understand the game and how to play it.

Any tutorial requests, ideas or comment would be apreshiated.

Thanks

Very nice!

I've seen the tutorials before.

However, I will post here the suggestion I had since day one: add voice to the videos.

Not yours, of course. Write something useful that will come as an aid to the text bubbles on the videos.

Then proceed to the Cepstral download page and try out a few voices there.

I'd advise for the US pronunciation voices (statistically, it seems most non-native English speakers comprehend the US accent better).

A bit of background: Cepstral is one of the one of many text-to-speech sites. Unlike others though, they offer voices for download.

I tested this on Linux (they also have Linux builds, yes) so here's a sum up: what you will get will be a trial version that will allow you to have the voice you selected to "read" an input file. The trial has two limitations that you can easily overcome:

1) The beginning of each recorded file contains a "this voice is not licensed" nag. You can easily take out this part with any audio editing software.

2) The tricky part is that once every few sentences you will get another (shorter) not registered nag in between sentences ( "Please register me!" ). This can also be worked around quite easily -- simply replace every punctuation mark in your text (dot, comma, colon, semi-colon, question mark, exclamation mark) with a comma and you won't get the not registered nag once every few sentences.

The videos do have audio, however youtube seems to have lowered the volume to below human hearing. I will attempt to re-dub the videos tomorrow
