At the moment, the time is in UTC.
We always used to have it on New York time (UTC-4).
When we migrate to the new datacentre this weekend, perhaps it's time to also try restoring that timezone, as a trial.
Personally, I never noticed either way, but some people were asking why it ever changed

All for going back to Eastern Time Zone 
Yeah I got used to it being EST. But I guess overall it doesn't matter. Makes me think it would be nice to have a poll system in the forums, or at least something you could officially do on the homepage to have people vote on things.

We used to have a poll built into the player home page. Having it in the forum would be really handy though.
